The Statistical Reasoning Level of Chilean Students of Pedagogy in Mathematics on Statistical Hypotheses Tests

Background : There is a relationship between country’s progress and the statistical formation of its citizens, where reasoning mathematics teachers crucial to increase this relationship. Objective To determine level on hypothesis tests future Chilean teachers. Design The methodology used quantitative transectional approach. SOLO (Structure Observed Learning Outcome) taxonomy was characterise pre-service teachers’ knowledge main concepts testing. Settings participants students from V VIII Pedagogy in Mathematics who passed statistics subjects formative itinerary, that include topic Data collection analysis Through consecutive non-probabilistic sampling an instrument previously validated by expert judges, sample made up 29 43 analysed, obtaining representation 67% target population. Result enough evidence affirm per-service prestructural unistructural levels regarding their tests. Conclusion It necessary correct situation means remedial tools before those graduate begin teaching.
